We are super excited that Bellavista Independence (6yo pure Cleveland Bay gelding, Arena Maestro X BCF Visa) has moved on to his new home in New Jersey. We are so pleased for the new owner and the future that she will have in partnership with Indy. Indy was in training with Woodge Fulton of Full Moon Farm in MD for a portion of 2026 during which time he began eventing and won his first two Beginner Novice events. Woodge and the FMF team marketed Indy on our behalf and did a fantastic job. It seems the Cleveland Bay temperament won over some new folks through this process including the FMF team, Indy’s new owner, and others along the way that met him in competition or the vetting process where he was noted as a supreme gentleman for all his poking and prodding.

We are super excited about our partnership with Woodge, David, and the FMF team, and are meeting soon to put plans into place for the next young Bella Vista horse that will go to them for training and then marketing to find their future human partner. We believe that the future of Cleveland Bays requires some of these amazing youngsters to go into professional hands as their proceed through their training regimine in order to grow awareness in the traits and strengths of our breed.

  • Bellavista Odds Ever In Her Favor - a 2026 pure Cleveland Bay filly (first 4 pics below). Gaylord Ivanhoe X Bellavista Her Royal Highness. Lovely young horse that epitomizes what we seek to breed. Athletic and friendly . Available at weaning in the Fall. $10,000

  • Bellavista Livestream - a 2023 Cleveland Bay Sporthorse gelding (pics 5 through 7 below). Gaylord Ivanhoe (pure) X Bellavista Banter (WB). A tall athlete (17.2+hh at age 3) with beautiful movement and a sweet personality. $15,000. Livestream will go off for saddlework this winter. He is a fantastic candidate for us to send off to a professional program like FMF above.

  • Bellavista Marigold - a 2024 pure Cleveland Bay filly (pics 8 and 9) - Gaylord Raleigh X Bellavista Her Royal Highness. Sizable, correct, and lovely personality. Could pursue many disciplines. Marigold carries herself in a very polished and baroque-type way. Oozes style! Inquisitive and bold. 16.2hh at age 2. $15,000

  • Bellavista Mercury - a 2024 pure Cleveland Bay gelding (pics 10 through 13 below) - Bellavista Independence X Venus BV. Fancy look with a nice temperament. Could pursue many disciplines. Reminds me a lot of his sire, Bellavista Independence (above). Should mature around 16hh. $10,000

We are often asked about what we have available for sale. What is available changes so please reach out to inquire. Here are some basics about sales:

  • It is rare for us to have horses available that are under saddle. Typically our stock sells when they are young - weaning, yearling, etc. Occasionally, we do have one and if you’ve reached out we know who to contact if a situation arises where we decide to place one we might have kept or one we previously sold comes onto the market.

  • We strive hard to place foals with a home that allows them to reach their potential. Please don’t be offended if we steer to or away from one you might have your eye on. It’s not a sales tactic.

  • We strive to place pure CB fillies with homes that intend to breed them in addition to their ridden or harness careers. The breed needs the numbers to survive - TRULY! We will work with purchasers of pure fillies to help them find a way to meet their needs as well as ensure the genetics of this rare breed continue.

  • If you have interest in a stallion prospect, please start that conversation early. Because stallion homes are few and far between, we often geld colts in order to give them a potentially better life as a ridden horse. That said, we have stallion sons of ours here in the US and Canada, and will gladly work with a potential breeder that wants to bring a Bella Vista colt into their program. We believe in our herd’s genetics and aren’t worried about any cannibalization in such a small breed. The only way Clevelands can fluorish is by new breeders entering the scene.

  • Lastly, we have the most devoted family of owners of Bella Vista horses. People all over the country reach out because of the amazing things that current BV horse owners post on Facebook, Instagram, and other social media. We have multiple folks that have purchased several horses years apart from us because they were so pleased. We want this to continue. We want to stay in contact with our horses and their owners - to hear the good things they are accomplishing and to help troubleshoot potential issues before they become problematic. We genuinely care!
